i am trying to remove norton anti virus 2004 from xp but....

half way through the removal process xp asks for a uninstall password i have tried the administrative password but it does not work this is the only program that asks for a uninstall password any suggestions would be welcome this is on a sony viao lap top

Uninstall Symantec products?

Symantec used to have an downloadable uninstall tool available on their web site. Dial up Symantec and search the site.
Warning the site is not very user friendly but give it a try.

well it tells me norton anti-virus 2004
but it must be corp. since it asks for password
also i have tried to use the uninstall tools but the failed to do the trick
