I am thinking about runing 2 OS on my duel core desktop

Nov 15, 2009 4:35PM PST

I am thinking about installing a 500gb hard drive and installing Windows 7 on it and keeping my XP on the original 250gb hard drive. I have an intel 1.86 dual core machine using 32bit and the windows7 will be the 64bit. If i don't like Windows 7 or if my hp scanner doesn't get the drivers for Windows 7 it won't be a tragedy. Does this make any sense?

I'm doing that, right now

I have an old Canon flatbed scanner 4200f. When I try to install on W7 I get an "incompatible" error and cannot install. My XP is 32-bit and W7 is 64-bit, and either OS can "see" the other and access files and pix. I disabled the internet connection in XP, so I will use only W7 online.
