I am tempted by Panasonic so called "Infinit Black"

TCP50S1 2.000.000 dynamic 40.000 static and TH50PZ80u 1.000.000 dynamic 20.000 static .Is there real life differences in black level.Actually if you watch this tv's side by side (same programing ) can you find difference in contrast, black level, colour saturation, colour fidelity? Are there other improvements in new model influencing picture quality?
I own TH50PZ80U and i was wandering if i should sell it pay the difference and get new TCP50S1 with NEO PDP panel. Please help me solve this problem.Black level is very important to me.

Yes, but...

...such improvements are sometimes more incremental and subjective according to the viewer. While I even see a difference in the stores between my older Panny (42" version of yours) and the latest models, for some folks it might not matter as much per se. The 600MHz sub field drive probably helps on the newer models AFAIK.

Since you are trading up and subsidizing the new purchase you might consider taking a look at the G10 or V10 too. You might find the following thread useful as well regarding lines of motion resolution-

What is "Infinite Black"?

In reply to: Yes, but...

I'am not interested in subtle differences,I need to know that there are big improvements in picture quality, especially black level before i spend more money on tcp50s1 and sell my th50pz80u plasma.

Not rocket science

In reply to: What is "Infinite Black"?

"Infinite black" is merely marketing jargon. Buy the new HDTV and take it home next to your PZ80U to see if it meets your expectations. That's the only way you'll know(!)

cheers,
Pedro
