Dry loop = ADSL only.
Normally it's ADSL (high frequency) and voice (low frequency) over the same cable.

I recently joined earthlink and became an dsl customer. they told me that there was no service in the area in which I lived so the I would have to use the one line that was my voice line and also make it my data line for dsl. DRY LINK. can anyone please explain what exactly goes on with this type of setup in dsl processing?
