Question

i am a beginner,how do i draw a physical network schema

Aug 20, 2016 5:52PM PDT

An organization is having Local Area Networks (LANs) to be connected together to form a big LAN over a 10 Km. Fibre Optic Cable as backbone for Bus network. Out of the available LANs, 1 is Bus Network (each containing 12 nodes, each segment of 20 centimeter can hold 8 nodes), 5 are Ring Networks (each containing 22 nodes, each segment of 1 meter can hold 5 nodes), 3 are Star Networks (each containing 8 nodes, each segment is of 20 centimeter) and 3 are Mesh Networks (each contains 8 nodes).

Answer
I've used so many methods over the years.

Today I do the first sketches with pencil and paper. There are drawing apps but usually I hand off the work to an artist later since the number of days and weeks you can sink into this is well, more than I will invest.

thanks for the feedback, a sketch of how the topologies connect. i would really appreciate a sketch i can develop over the 10km LAN network

This is not a question of how but of getting to work.

Since I've done this so many times, only you can set the standards for your work.

I know it always starts with a pencil sketch. Some try to use drawing apps from the beginning but that doesn't work for me.

a sketch not necesarily formal

what i'm looking for is a direction as how its done on a larger scale,as i am a beginner. i have only ever handled single topologies , but this is about different topologies with multiple nodes on a LAN wired network.

That I can answer.

On a larger scale I move to a bigger sheet of paper. I always sketch it on paper first because I can redraw and tape on other sheets until I have it in basic but rough form.

At that point I decide if it goes to a drawing app or an artist.
