Question

hyperlink- word 2003 - windows xp

Oct 3, 2015 9:08AM PDT

I create a hyperlink and it works for a while, days to a week or two. Then it fails. I have not changed the file name nor the location of the linked file.

I do update and add new text and hyperlinks to the word file, but I do not alter the already save information or hyperlink text.

Do you know how to fix this?

Hyperlinks usually refer to INTERNET WEB LINKS but for this old an OS and Word you're never sure why it breaks. Here I continue to set IE as the browser and fix the HTML HTM associations with a little help from Doug Knox at http://www.dougknox.com/xp/file_assoc.htm

After I have it working, I can then change back to my browser.
