Question

HW-E450 volume no longer controlled by Sony 40HX800 remote

Feb 27, 2015 5:21AM PST

When I first connected the Samsung HW-E450 sound bar to my Sony 40HX800 television with a Toslink cable and an HDMI cable from tv's ARC port to the sound bar's IN port, everything worked fine.

Then, when I picked up and used a new SAMSUNG Remote Control TM930C 32Key to adjust the sound bar's settings, the tv's remote no longer controls the sound bar.

I made sure the "auto volume" is set to "on." I tried both fixed and variable settings on the TV, which is set to "audio system." The volume is now controlled by the TM930C, but no longer the tv remote.

What did I do wrong?
