husbands pc will not connect to Internet since latest update

Since we are August 19 now, that must be 2011?

Anyway, if you think they are the cause, it's easy to delete them. Just click the uninstall link in their $NTUninstall folders in c:\windows. I'd try one by one. You must be logged in as an administrator. And don't forget to hide the update, or it will come back automatically!

Can you tell which one it was that had this (very secure, by the way) side effect?

Some updates will fail and connections fail if the date and time are that far off.

Try setting the date and time too!

well he is doing a system restore to return the pc to the way it was before he said yes to the aug 15 updates: hope this will work

good news: the restore worked : now has Internet: we don't know what the four aug 15 updates contained but he can probably find out from a windows tech
