Husband of Missing Jogger Lied to Cops, Family

by xerpor / July 22, 2004 12:19 AM PDT

Bearing in mind nothing has been proven but this update surprised me. Watching this story unfold on TV I never would have thought Mark Hacking had anything to do with his wife's disappearance now I'm not that sure. No wonder the police always suspect family members first, so often they are right.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - The families of Mark Hacking and his missing wife were stunned to learn just moments before their news conference that he had not graduated from college or been accepted at a medical school, as he had said.

"We were of the impression that he had graduated from the University of Utah recently, and just found out a few minutes ago that he never applied to medical school in North Carolina," Douglas Hacking, the visibly shaken father of Mark Hacking, told the news conference Wednesday.

It doesn't say in your article, but it was initially reported that he was "kicking himself" for not going on the jog with his wife because he was going bicycling or something with his brother. No mention of that story anymore or alibi Confused

comitted perjury?

*poor guy, even if he had nothing to do with her disappearance, some of our stalwart do-gooders will hound him to death*

Update. "...Mark Hacking is not a suspect."

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (CNN) -- The husband of a missing Salt Lake City woman has checked himself into a psychiatric ward of a hospital to deal with the stress of her disappearance, according to his father.

The lead detective in the case, Dwayne Baird, said Mark Hacking is not a suspect.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
