It seems that every web application wants to add sociability these days - whether we want it or not. Hulu has decided that your first name, last name, city and state of residence are fair game to share with whomever they want. And there is no opt out other than to cancel your account and stop using the service.
I find it really frustrating that to use this service, I need to reveal that information to anyone that wants to harvest it. I'm used to watching tv shows and movies without anyone looking over my shoulder.
With Netflix, for example, I can invite people I know to be friends and share comments and queue info with them. But no one I don't want to know about it can lookup whether or not I use the service, and particularly not my address.
How weird, Hulu. How Big Brother of you.
I want my TV back.
