Huawei E5577 reset not working correctly.

by bigboy_emji / February 3, 2018 3:20 PM PST

Im trying to reset my pocket wifi Huawei E5577 because I forgot my admin password. The instructions said that by using a pin, I need to press and hold the reset button for few seconds and the device will automatically restart. But somehow, whenever I press the button the screen will act like its going to reboot and after the Huawei logo appears and the screen becomes blank. Also, when you press any buttons on that device for example the power button, the blank screen are going to have a low light just like a blank screen with a light. I hope you will help me with this matter, thanks folks.

Long or short time press?
by TechguyMachete / February 3, 2018 4:45 PM PST

To reset those type of devices you need to press for a little while from 30 seconds for a configuration reset. to 1 minute or so for Factory reset.

If you are pressing for a shorter time it may just be power cycling the device and it wont release the configuration.
also the small button at the time that you press it you should feel a light click once you feel that just keep it pressed and hold for the time i mentioned before depending on what you want to do.

if it still wont reset after that then call the manufacturer or service provider so that they can instruct you or exchange your device.
