After an OS change we get to do the usual driver hunt for motherboard video and sometimes a monitor. I'm finding many folk new to Windows that didn't know this or that no one can really do this work without hitting the PC makers web site.

Microsoft only made a few PCs

So it's rare to ask them. And since the trouble is on the PC we're back to that maker on the issue. It might be Samsung but all they are going to supply at best is the monitor.inf file. Now most folk are totally blown away by that last sentence. Most never heard of the monitor.inf file or what it does.

So what to do but learn all about Windows or just have it fixed by folk that do such things?

Even I can't offer much because I don't see the PC details. And the model number of the Samsung is incomplete. That may be way forums are failing you.

But a PC with Windows 8.1 is too vague and we know that Microsoft still won't get all the drivers for us. Yes it may have worked before but someone could have installed drivers and the monitor.inf for you.

If you want members to help you find drivers, the PC details are required. That doesn't mean they will find them.

https://www.google.com/search?q=UE55HU8200Z&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8#q=UE55HU8200Z+monitor.inf+%22windows+10%22 doesn't get many hits but it may reveal to those new to this file why it matters. It's only a piece of the puzzle, not the total solution.
