Just a note, you probably noticed

In reply to: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26315908/#44265936

links aren't active in the title of a post, and I think there are sometimes more problems with some unusual characters in a title too.

Thanks Rodger,

for the link. What is the deal with not being able to paste? My XP Dell gave it up recently and I'm on a loaner Mac now. Used to be I could paste short things like links. There was the option of allowing paste or not. Not anymore.

The very last character? I don't get it. I type something into the message box, highlight it and click on it and what? Doesn't seem to work for me.

In reply to: Humm.

In the section over the message box....after the smiley face is an icon....box with a magnifying glass.....When you hold your mouse over it it states "Toggle View", click on it and see how your text changes.

don't highlight your text in the message box.

You said you had a borrowed Mac

In reply to: Thanks Rodger,

That could offer a clue. If you peruse bug posts in the feedback forum you'll find that posts from Macs seem to be more affected. There might be better advice there on how to avoid these.

It's a G8 running OS10. I'm quite intimidated actually. I know there's all the stuff I'm used to here somewhere. But where? I had to ask where the mouse speed adjustment was. Felt pretty dumb when it was pointed out. I'm used to some things like > New > Text Document. Which I use to strip out all the formating from things I copy and paste when ever necessary. Spell check is not where I'm used to. And not intuitional, by one step. Still, it's a challenge and what's it all about without rubbing one synapse against another?

You'd think spell check would be: Safari > Edit > Spelling > Spell Check, but you'd be wrong. It's Safari > Edit > Spelling > Spelling.
