HTML understood, but what software used to put on internet?

May 29, 2005 12:07AM PDT

Hello:
I have studied HTML and XHTML.

I need to know what software I need to put a site on the web? I am writting my experiments with "MS notepad"
after this my next problem will be How in the heck do I get something off my hard drive and on the internet?
Oh, and an ethics question, Is it wrong to copy code from another site only to delete their specifics and add my own?

Thanks for your assistance.

Wm.

- you need to buy a domain name
- you need a hosting service
- upload your files to your host using a FTP client

FTP

You will need an FTP (File Transfer Program) to upload all files and pictures to the site. Here is a real nice FTP program WS-FTP http://www.ipswitch.com/downloads/index.html

If you are just using the code, no problem. The text and pics may be a different story.

What you actually need is a ftp programm that can load your site to the server you want it to be. Macromedia contribute, ftp leech and many other such programms exist.
Yoy'd better have a look at cnet's download service.

You'll certainly find there a lot.
