Housecall will clean a virus IF it is cleanable and IF you checkmark the "auto clean" box at the beginning of the scan without actually buying the program. I'm not having much luck finding this either virus at google either and I'm curious as to how you got it in the first place. Did you maybe click on a phish e-mail link? Anyway, you could try this. See if you can find the virus in your temporary internet files seeing as that is where housecall said it was. IF you can find it, click on this link and browse to where the file is and see what Kaspersy says about it. This is also an online virus checker but you can scan one file at a time with it as long as they aren't over 1MB.
I run Windows 98, IE6 and OE6.
Over the last few days my computer has been acting oddly - I've managed to sort out some of mess but now I cannot close my computer properly.
When I go to Start, Close Down, the egg timer comes up and my desktop goes fuzzy but I can still see the various icons then nothing happens.
If I right click I see various programs in the box and have to click on each and then the box comes up asking if I want to wait or close down.
So I have to go thro each closing down individually and this takes about 30 seconds for each.
I run AVG aand Zone Alarm and Spybot and AdAware and all show me as clear.
Yesterday I ran Trend Micro pc-Cillin House Call and after running for over an hour it showed that I'd got 4 viruses details as follows:
HTML BANK FRAUD VIRUS NON CLEANABLE C Windows Temporary Internet
This showed 4xs.... it didn't give any more details and of course wouldn't clear them because I haven't sunscribed to Trend.
I've checked via Google and there doesn't seem to be any mention in any forum of a virus by the name of HTML BANK FRAUD.
I've emptied my Temp Internet Files but the problem persists.
HELP Please don't suggest running Trend again downloading the program and checking all my files will take at least 3 hours!
Sorry for been so long winded but I wanated to give full details so that hopefully someone can help.
