HTIB with Active Sub for under $500

Jun 21, 2009 3:40AM PDT

Hey, I'm looking for a Home Theater System (preferably all together) for under $500 with an active subwoofer. I'm hoping to replace my current system which include 4 Bose speakers that are just way to big for the place I'm moving to. So, I'm also looking for something compact... 5.1, maybe 2.1 if it sounds good and is still in budget.

I don't need a DVD player, I use my PS3 for all my video playback, but if it's there I just won't use it. So far, the only system I've found that's readily available is a Yamaha YHT-391BL, but reviews on it say that the HDMI pass through is only for video and no audio. I think that's just lame and completely defeats the purpose of HDMI so I've ruled it out.

Would prefer an active sub cause that's what I have now, but if there is a system that's passive with great sound then I'll definitely consider it. I just need it to have at least 2 HDMI inputs and the one output to go to my Samsung DLP.

Any ideas?
