HTC One stuck on process com.android.phone has stopped

Hi all, I have an HTC One without any type of custom ROM at all on it and I restarted it this morning and it won't stop flashing the message: "Unfortunately the process com.android.phone has stopped." Every time I click OK it flashes again in less than a second. I have no signal where I usually would but other processes are still running in the background (updating apps over wifi/receiving emails).

I have tried restarting the phone and holding the power button and volume down key and selecting recovery. But the problem persists.

Can anyone help with this or have any suggestions? It would be great if I didnt have to reset my phone...!

Two things.

I'd do the following.

1. Go to google and put in your subject and see what others did.
2. Take the phone to the service counter.

I'm unsure if you tried step 1.
