tom123c,
In the interest of making sure you're happy with your purchase, I might recommend sending it in anyway. If you had problems with it, let the service center do the necessary testing and replacements (if necessary) for anything that isn't up to par.
It could be the electrical wiring, but if that's something you suspect, I'd definitely recommend considering a power-regulator for the appliances that you value most. You want to keep that power as consistent as possible, and varying degrees of voltage and amps could very well take a toll on your electronics' power supply over time; operational or not.
Normally I wouldn't suggest that, but there are some cases where I think it's a good idea to think about it.

I called for technical help and I was told to send my TZ-512 in for repair. Here is what it was doing; turn on, on button light turns from red to blue, screen flashes hello, makes an unusual grinding-turning sound, TZ-512 turns of, on button turns from blue to red.
I was sent the shipping label from Samsung and brought to my office to send for repair. I tried it one more time from my office and it turns on and seems to work fine. ?? I bought the HT in October, probaly only have watched 6 movies since I have bought it.
Could it be an electrical power wattage problem in my apartment and not a problem with the TZ-512? Building where I live was built in 1967, completely remodeled in 2003. Have had no problems with any other appliances or previous HT. My Samsung plasma TV in the same outlet seems to have no problems.
Thank you for any input you may have.
