HT S770 must I use rear speaker?

I am thinking of purchasing this home theater system, but in my current apartment I can't place the rear speaker, if I don't use the rear speaker will I lose a lot of sound quality? Can I just set it to play as 5.1 instead of 6.1? Thanks in advance for any and all help
