I'm sorry to hear that you're having this issue.
Unfortunately, I'm not sure what's causing the problem, so it's difficult to offer options when I can't suggest what the diagnosis is.
Does this happen with other discs? I'm thinking that the pop noise might be a scratch on the disc. Normally, that would also affect the picture, but see if it happens with other discs. If it does, it may be defective or require service.
I have a less than one month old HT-C5500 BlueRay Surround Sound receiver. The first 10 hours or so were fine. After that though, it has started making a "popping" noise like an old-fashoined stop watch. The noise increases in volume and decreases with the volume control. Goes silent when the system is muted, but continues if the DVD is paused (it will be the only noise coming through the system at this point). It seems to be only the two front speakers making the noise and I can switch inputs to make the noise come out of the rear speakers instead (it is not the speakers specifically causing the noise). There seems to be a faint occurrence of it in the sub-woofer as well.
Any tips on how to address this? I really don't want to have to un-run all of the speaker wire to get this back to BestBuy.
Any help is appreciated.
