HT BD1250 Surround Sound Not Working

by sparky986 / November 21, 2010 9:04 AM PST

I just got a new HT BD1250 home theater system and the front speakers and the sub-woofer is all that's working now. I have a 55" samsung TV and it is plugged into the optical audio. It worked just fine yesterday, and today when I turned it on no surround sound. Any thoughts?

sparky986,

Is the channel a 5.1 signal? Not all channels have 5.1 audio available, and will default to a 2.1 (Two fronts and subwoofer) when channels are broadcast in Stereo.

Thanks for the information, I shipped the first one back because it would not load any disks, it just continued to display load on the front display. Now the second receiver it loads disks just fine, and the speakers all work when running test through them, however still no center and rear speakers when watching HD TV channels. I am going through the Motorola cable box and running my optical audio cable from it to the receiver, Sumsung tech said I don't need to run it through the TV. Starting to get tired of Samsung at the moment. Let me know if you have any other thoughts?

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
