VS

dv4000
Intel(R) Pentium(R) M Processor 750 (1.86 GHz)
15.4" WXGA BrightView Widescreen (1280x800)
128MB ATI MOBILITY(TM) RADEON(R) X700

go for the zd8000
Nov 13, 2005 10:08AM PST

Only if you are into playing game alot, if not dv4000
would be the option. Why you ask here is why ZD' is to big, short battery life, fan run hot and loud. But
if you not to game, Dv' is the better choice to go with. I recent return my zd8000 because it to big and
not really the performance notebook I was looking for.
You ratter buy desktop better if you in to game. Like
the pentium d processor (dual core) it alot faster for
gaming(if you interested in this please contact me i have desktop pc for sale, more info email me @ nongple2821@yahoo.com) task. If you are willing to give up game go the DV' it pretty fast, my config...
Intel(R) Pentium(R) M Processor 760 (2.0 GHz)
15.4" WXGA BrightView Widescreen (1280x800)
128MB ATI MOBILITY(TM) RADEON(R) X700
512MB DDR2 SDRAM (2x256MB) 80 GB 4200 RPM Hard Drive
DVD+/-RW/R & CD-RW Combo w/Double Layer Support/ with LIGHT SCRIBE /12 Cell Lithium Ion Battery. The light scribe is alittle slow to print but a sweet unit to have. It nice and light notebook to have. Havent try
to play game with it yet but try it vegas 6.0 movie and dvd program and it run pretty stable. I also use it for music production with sonar 4.0 "WOW" it past
my test............my choice is go for the DV....
but get more opinion....you can contact me for more INFO feel free to at 714-956-4680 randy.....

zd8000 only has the x600 card, not x700
Nov 13, 2005 10:23AM PST

I found out myself only today that the zd8000 only has the x600 card, not the x700. HP sent out an advertisement circular that indicates the zd8000 has the x700 as an option for upgrade but if you look at their website the only option available is the x600 128mb or 256mb. Not sure if you saw the same circular as I did but make sure if you try to order the zd8000 that you can get the x700 because I don't think you can. The DV4000 does have the x700 as an option now and it would be better for gaming than the zd8000 in my opinion. If it were me I would go with that one. I have the HP zv6000 which I really like but if I could go back and purchase again I think I would get the DV4000.
