...this occurs intermittently...I couldn't boot this computer, wrote that previous message on a different computer, then took the battery out of the problem computer and was able to getting running. Put battery back in and see that I'm running on AC power and the battery is at 100%.
Friends,
HP DV5000, Windows XP, recently my laptop won't boot up. Instead, when I try to turn it on it beeps a couple of times and then nothing...happens plugged in and on battery alone. A light usually is on when the computer is plugged in but not turned on. This doesn't come on anymore. Instead when I plug it in the lightning bolt light comes on briefly and then turns off. Seems as though the battery is dead but it should boot when plugged in, right? Also seems as though the power outlet to the computer seems a little loose but the blue light still comes on briefly when I plug it in. Suggestions? Please help.
