HP w2207h lcd monitor has horizontal lines flashing, redish

Aug 14, 2009 12:36AM PDT

16 month old lcd HP monitor out of warranty, First issue was red color went to matte look, i reinstalled driver and seemed to work for 30 minutes. Then horizontal 3/8 wide lines flicker over the whole screen and when you do diagnostic the red color bar has issues (it is not smooth and continuous as are the other colors). There are lines in the white areas of the test patterns.

I hooked up another monitor to the computer which worked correctly. All diagnostics say everything is working correctly. I have unhooked and rehooked all cables etc. I have reset to original factory specs and have played with all settings and that makes it less noticable but the problem is still there.

That's not good.

Since you did the test on another monitor then the news looks grim. If I were to give it ONE MORE TRY it would be to change connections. That is, I would try the other connections to the display before calling it dead.

Sounds as if you have covered the obvious bases, hate to say it but think your Lcd is toast.
