I have 3 year old HP laptop that has XP PRO on it
virus software nod32 but didnt get up grade on quick enough.
when i turn on it shuts downdown or wont let be scan or upgrade.
i would like to go back to 12/25/08 and then upgrade. tried to use HP/PC/RECOVERY but it wont let me pick date to go back to my date.
almost a newbie, i know aq little but not doing this

I CAN GET to the PC RECOVERY SCREEN
1. IS RECOVER TO A TIME BUT WON'T LET ME DO THAT
2. RECOVER TO FACTROY INSTALLATION, do i lose all thats on my computer?
3. RECOVER PC FACTORY INSTALLED OPERATING SYSTEMS
on HP laptops. But I've got XP Pro on an old beater Alienware PC. Try this:
click: start>all programs>accessories>system tools>system restore>restore my computer to an earlier time>next

THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN THE WAY BUT I DID FACTORY RESTORY because i was in a rush. i lost almost everything, next time i will wait for the good answer no the quick fix
