HP Scanjet G4010

by 1moreprodigal / February 25, 2011 10:13 AM PST

Installed scanner, downloaded software and drivers to my HP compaq SR 1617 cl computer with a HP deskjet5650 printer scans to PDF fine but when I try to print it prints in a pinkish red color even though I click black copy I tried asking in the HP forum but haven't had much luck, maybe I have been spoiled here at CNET. Any help will be much appreciated

Color on B/W

The first thing I would suspect would be the cartridge(s). When was the last time you changed the black? On that series I would highly recommend using the OEM cartridges (56bk 57 clr) I have seen issues with the generics being used in this series. Of course one other question would be, does it print normally on genereral printing? Is it ONLY when you scan something in from the 4010? If it only does it on a scan then I would be looking at the software load(s), printer and scanner, it may be that you might need to reinstall the software(s) and/or depending on OS, check on software updates from HP. Best of luck!

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
