Just scan them at highest speed, then batch convert the lot with (free) IRFANVIEW?
Bob
When I do a scan, it automatically does the preview scan to "millions of colors". Preview scan is rapid. Then if I want the scan black/white, I have to select it and the final scan is very slow. Interestingly, if I don't choose black/white for the final scan but let it continue in "millions of colors" the final scan is just as fast as the preview scan. And if I scan multiple pages at black/white via the feeder, it of course skips the "preview stage", but the process is painfully slow. The reason I want the end product in black/white is because they're relatively small sized whereas the color scans are huge.
I tried adjusting settings in the HP software, but no luck. Any suggestions or should I junk it and buy a Xerox scan mate which will do rapid scans with just one shot into black/white scan?
