Now that HP doesn't design or make most of their PC products they can't correct flaws if they are found.
I'm sure there are other makers with that issue but HP seems to be OK with this so for me I can't see buying a HP product again.

Hi all - first time poster hoping for advice.
I bought a "new other" Zbook off ebay a couple of days ago. Its reduced from approx. $2,500 to $1,000. It was sold as "HP renew - with some marks on casing and 1 yr HP warranty". When the laptop came it turned out the (one and only) mark was a dent to the left bottom corner, which has affected both base and lid, pushed in about 1/4 - 1/3 of a cm, I think it took quite a bang at some point.
It starts up fine - and has a yrs warranty. Should I keep or send back? Used equipment is always a risk, but I feel unsure about keeping a laptop that looks like it has been dropped, even if it is a good deal...
What would you do??? (Thanks)

Hi, thank you for your view.
I don't know if it was Gold, Silver or Bronze, it is just classified as HP Renew, which is described as
"All HP Renew products undergo a thorough HP refurbishment and testing process, fully restoring the functional quality of the product. It is only then that they qualify for full HP base warranty – guaranteeing HP functional quality and reliability like the new products."
Thank you for the links -made for scary reading, I thought they would have to replace the product under warranty if they couldn't fix it!
