HP Recovery Disks

Feb 9, 2011 6:46AM PST

I started having problems with my HP Pavilion 3152ca at the end of December 2010, I contacted HP service as was only 5 months old. They concluded that both the graphics card and the hard drive was gone so shipped back for repairs, Received about 1 week later and ran for about 1 week then problems again so tried both set of restore disks with their help again would not work, so contacted them again and returned for repair again was gone 4 days. Received again and had crashes and freeze ups so called again, They said Try recovery disks again still not working. So they said would replace with a laptop with equal specs or a better one. The have suggested 3 laptops of which 2 are 15" I have a 17" HA HA. The other one is missing at least 4 of the features I Have. I am so fed up with them as the do not want to do what they said.
What do I Do Now, From what I have read on the internet the recovery disks do not work because of the changes in hardware ??
This has been going on now for about 6 weeks. and I do not know what to do.

You're doing better than I.

My G62 went back, they swapped the motherboard and later they admitted the problem is a BIOS bug that can not be fixed because they buy the BIOS. The machine is crashing just like yours even when the restore media is used.

HP has said there is nothing they will do for me because "not many people use a smart phone" and "they buy the BIOS" so that's the end of it.

Something bad has happened at HP and I see this issue more and more as time passes.

buy it from Costco since it's one of the models they carry? Costco has a free concierge service for one year which can assist you with repairs and replacements and Costco very very seldom disappoints.

Try going for an upgrade...

I once bought a laptop for my daughter, and when it broke down on her, the store I bought it from tried to do the same thing to me--for as long as I was trying to get a free replacement. But as soon as I found something that was of better value for just a little bit more money, then, why, of course, I could have the upgrade for the difference.

What Bob Proffitt said, however is true. Something bad HAS happened to HP. Since they bought out Compaq, they haven't been the same and they're going downhill fast, and nobody in my family would buy their computers anymore.
