Since it's a new purchase I expect your call to HP to be fairly easy, but you will have to make the call to get your recovery CDs or consider returning the product.
That was not an error but how it was programmed.
I just purchased an HP Media PC, model M490N. It was an open box refurb that did not come with boot disks. When I go to use the HP PC Recovery CD/DVD creator software to create the boot discs, it gives an error that a recovery set has already been created for this PC. I know that there is a seperate hard drive partition for recovery that you can boot from if you want to restore your PC, but in case of total hard drive failure, or if I want to get a different hard drive, I would like to have the discs so that I can restore it to its factory state with all of the installed software. Is there any way around this error to create the discs ? Thanks in advance for your help.
