HP PSC problems in Windows XP

Dec 10, 2003 5:24AM PST

I have a Hp PSC (Printer Scanner Copier) three in one unit on my desk running XP professional. Everything installed fine and the printer will print, but the scanning utility will not scan, or even open, gives the following error:

Driver is not compatible!

I don't understand this, and checked the HP site but they didn't have anything in the way of Scanner drivers specifically for XP.

Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

"Tip: If you are asking for help to troubleshoot a computer-related problem, please be sure to include all the necessary information (ie: operating system, model number, hardware, software, etc) that will help others identify your problem for a speedy resolution."

HP made some dozen or more models of a PSC. So you've left the forum to ask what model.

You also didn't reveal if you called HP to see if they have a new CD for the machine.

Your story about prior OS's in use or any history could be helpful as well as how the PSC is attaches. Parallel port connections tend to be problematic for scanners.

I had to download the complete driver package for my G55xi machine. You probably won't find a seperate scanner driver.
