HP PSC 1410 Paper won't load

Nov 26, 2010 3:51AM PST

I have a HP PSC 1410 All in one printer that won't load the paper. It worked a couple of years ago when I set it aside. I looked in the back and saw that the roller which sat down on the paper is not moving. I have a XP Home OS. When I go to the printer section of the control panel,it indicates the printer is ready, but the paper won't load so I get a error saying to check the paper. I also have a HP 4315 connected to the computer, would that cause a problem?
Thanks in advance,
Jerry

And you installed the software for the PSC1410? Is this a different computer than you were using 2 years ago and a different operating system? Need a bit more information.

Sorry to take so long to get back to you. When I was taking the back door off of the printer the plastic was so brittle it broke, so my son told me he is going to get me a early Christmas present, which will be a flat bed scanner. Thanks for your interest just the same. Then I can start scanning my boxes of family pictures. These things look nice but the constuction is flimsly.

Yes they were a low end all in one fairly light duty. You will be better off with a stand alone scanner and separate printer, in my opinion. One advantage of all in one units over stand alone units is space saving.Typically most stand alone scanners have better software bundled, specifically OCR capability whereas MOST all in ones that I have seen do not. Best of luck!!
