HP printer g85- print on mylar?

by foodfiend / January 7, 2006 2:04 AM PST

Is it possible to print on a sheet of drafting mylar (one side is matte finish for drawing, which I would print on, the other side is a gloss) if I cut it into an 8-1/2 x 11" sheet (flat). Or would it jam and/ or cause any other problems? I think that there are special mylar printing papers, and probably an adapter for doing this, but it is a special situation which arises only once every few years and I don't want to buy anything that I won't use again
THANKS!

Sorry, I don't own a g85 or your paper to do the test for you.

I just wanted to find out if anyone else "out there" had done this before I tried it myself. The printer is in an awkward area, and clearing paper jams take a lot of flexibility which I do not seem to be capable of this afternoon! But I will try, since it needs to be done very soon.

Just in case anyone else has this type of situation, I just wanted to post to let you know it worked so well that my test sheet became my final copy!
