HP Photosmart 2575 printer - scanning photos

Aug 6, 2006 6:35AM PDT

Earlier this year I received a new printer; an HP Photosmart 2575 inkjet printer; a printer which can print, make copies and can scan. I have used it to print and make copies but haven't used the scanning feature yet.

I have approximately 100 excellent 35 mm color photographs that I took last year of storm damage in and around my area after Hurricane Katrina. This HP printer is also connected to a Dell Dimension 3100 Desktop PC with Windows Home XP.

An encyclopedia of an owner's manual came with the HP printer which I plan to review. Can I scan these 100 or so storm damage photographs into the Dell computer and email them out?

I did contact HP Shopping.com earlier today only to be told by one of their customer service sales reps to call HP tech support tomorrow since they were closed.

If I have submitted my question in the wrong forum please advise so I can resubmit it in the correct forum. Feedback would certainly be appreciated from anyone in the know.
