NEVER leave dv6000/dv9000 models with the power on for long periods of time. It's well discussed.
Try the simple reset:
Remove AC, battery, press and hold the power button for 60 seconds, slip in battery, apply AC and try again.
If no go, arrange for repair.

So, i came back last night and my notebook was idle for hours, the screen was black, but the computer was still on, so i turned it of and turned it back on.
the screen remains black, nothing comes up, but the blue lights on the keyboard are lit, im not sure if the fan is working as it should, and if you press the caps or number lock keys, it their lights dont change.
note that i dont hear windows starting up so i dont think its working properly.
