hp Pavillion DV2000 laptop plugged in no picture

I used my laptop today at the laundry without the power cord. (forgot). used 3/4 of the power usage. Thought it shut down regularly. later when i got home, plugged it in lights are on but no start up screen. sounds like it is on. I am hoping it only needs to be charged back up to get the screen to come on. battery light is flashing.
What do you think?

correction : the battery light is not flashing

The battery light is not flashing or is on. The drive light is flashing. It is next to the battery light. Not sure what the drive light is for.

my laptop came on this morning. It must have been that the battery was totally used up yesterday. it said it was not properly shut down.(I thought i had shut it down)Anyway, I will research lap top battery info to get a better knowledge of how they work, and replacement if needed in the future.
