Just spent basically the last two days trying to get my sister's skype to work so she can communicate easier with my brother that is paralyzed from the chest down. He uses Skype, so any help would be so appreciated. I have tried everything I have found so far by googling.
I think it is an issue with her Windows 8, which we know little about. She is less literate than I am about computers so when she went to buy one, she ends up with Windows 8 not knowing that she didn't even have a good handle on the previous version. Ok, enough about that, I'm just exasperated over this. My version of skype works perfectly, 6.3 with my Windows 7.
Hers gets error messages when we try to sign in, saying another Skype is already open. This is after I have clean off all the old Skype, including using AVG to "shred" all component files.
Does anyone know if this is worth even attempting? I mean, if Skype just is a pain in the......then I will tell her we need to find another way for her to communicate with our bro.
Hi all,
My sister has the above computer, and we are trying to get her sound/audio, and video to work on Skype. The test with skype went fine on my computer (laptop, Toshiba Satellite L775-S7132.
I did check to make sure she had the built in mic and webcam. But I am using remote access to load her skype which went fine. But where you test the sound/audio it is not working. Her sound is up, and works fine with our Yahoo Messenger chat.
Can anyone tell me what the problem might be?
Thank you so much in advance,
