By now you have probably solved your problem. After 5 pavilions with this issue, I finally found the HP discussion/info site. There I got a great response from someone at Harvard complete with pictures. Find that guy: in a nutshell, the cable from your board to your keyboard needs to be reseated. Take the keyboard out, disconnect and reconnect the cable and your problem will vanish. HP will not admit this! Good luck.
Hi,
This is Daniel and I have huge problem with my keyboard. Some keys are not working properly. These keys are "f3","3","E","D","C", and the Windows Logo key. As you can see these keys are in the same "line". I had already replace my old keyboard with a brand new one but didn't work. Also if I hold any of these keys while I'm using any word processor, I would expect the letters to show up while holding the key. But what I get is only on character. Also, key "E" is really bugging me because 3 out 5 time I press it, the Start Menu pops up and since I'm typing while the Start Menu is up depending on the key I press, a program is loaded. I can't even type this message because of that.
I already updated the BIOS, check the accesability options, virus, services packs and nothing works.
Does anybody has a suggestion? HP hasn't figure out the problem and want to charge with +$500 USD for the service.
Daniel
