At this point the notebook is saying "fix me". The fix can be a new motherboard at the service shop since today's laptops pretty much have everything on one board. And today's service centers don't do board repair.
Options depend on what you want to try.
1. Ebay.
Find a laptop of the same model, but with a busted LCD. Perform a brain transplant.
2. You.
If you decide to not try the service center and feel up to it, disassemble the unit and wiggle plus push on every connection you can find. I've resurrected a few laptops this way, but it's not for everyone to crack open their laptop.
3. Warranty.
If its in warranty, time to take advantage of it.
Best of luck,

I have a Hp pavilion n5170 notebook and it wont turn on. I tried using a different battery, using just the power cord, using both the power cord and the battery...and it just wont turn on. I contacted HP support and they told me to take the battery out, unplug the power cord, wait a few mins, and then hold the power button for about a minute before plugging the battery and power cord in and trying to start it up, and that didnt work. I noticed though, that when i plug the power cord into the computer, the light on the power cord blinks, and the light on the front of the computer blinks, i dont know what that means or what i should do next, i do know that the problem is NOT the power cord or the battery because I tried it with 2 different power cords and 2 different batteries and it does the same thing... someone please try to help me out...thank you so much in advance!
