Frequently Asked Questions about this Issue
Why did HP make this defective product?
HP works hard to design and manufacture world-class products that meet the demands of our customers. As a result, HP has implemented a warranty extension for qualified customers world-wide.
Will HP refund my money?
Under the terms of HP?s Limited Warranty Statement, a consumer is only entitled to a refund: (1) after repeated attempts to repair or replace the product, and (2) at HP?s discretion. HP repair or replacement is a proven remedy for this f1703 LCD monitor hardware issue and therefore, no refunds will be given.
What exactly is wrong with the product?
A portion of f1703 LCD monitors sold by HP experienced a manufacturing process error, which may cause intermittent video, no video or no backlight.

No, the f1703 LCD monitor failures are not safety related. HP wants to hear from any customer who does experience any safety related issues with any of our products by contacting HP Support in your region.
My f1703 LCD monitor is working fine but is otherwise qualified for the warranty extension. Should I get mine replaced now?
The warranty extension is only for products that have failed (exhibited the symptoms described above). Monitors returned to HP that do not qualify will be handled like any other product; if no repair is needed, it will be returned to the customer, if a repair is needed, it will be repaired or exchanged per the terms of HP?s Limited Warranty statement.
My f1703 LCD monitor is not working, but does not meet all the criteria, how do I get it fixed?
