HP Pavilion dv9720us vs Dell Vostro 1700

by jennmw / February 18, 2008 3:42 AM PST

We are looking to replace our dell desktop and can't decide what to do. We've been happy with our dell but customer support has not been that great. We have an HP printer and have had great customer support with it so I am leaning towards the HP. I played with the HP at Circuit City and loved it compared to the dells they had (they did not have the vostro though)but since all I know are dells I am worried about any others. I definately want the number pad on the keyboard, a featue we don't have right now on the really old laptop we use on occassion. The price of the HP is $699 and the Dell is a little over $800. The HP has the AMD processor and the Dell has the Intel duo core processer.

So, does anyone have any experience with HP? I asked our tech guy at work and he thought I was crazy for buying anything but Dell.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
