Question

HP Pavilion dv6-2144tx Power Issue - only works on battery?

Hi,
I have a HP Pavilion dv6-2144tx Entertainment notebook. It has recently started crashing after about 20 mins of use. It just dies completely like the plug has been pulled out. I'm running it on power and the blue power light is on and the cord looks undamaged. Once it dies it won't start again on power only on battery. The battery still can charge though when the computer is off but plugged in.
When I plug the power back it will work for a couple of minutes then crash. I tried pulling the battery out and holding the power button down. Can anyone help? It's only a year old but out of warranty.
Thanks heaps!!

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/product?cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&product=4122562 DOES NOT GIVE SPECIFICATIONS on this model.

While the issue sounds like heat many are in need of long explanations about how laptops reduce speed and more on battery use. On AC it speeds up and if there is any issue with heat, it should crash.

Tell the forum about your maintenance. The usual 3 to 6 month use of canned air and such.

Try another inverter, it could be dropping out under load, have seen this before.
