HP Laserjet 4P printer

Nov 22, 2004 1:39AM PST

I posted this before but don't see it anywhere so somehow it must have got lost! My printer has suddenly started to cut off words on the right and left side when printing emails or from the internet. On the left it only cuts off one or two letters but on the right it cuts off 4 or 5 words. I have looked under troubleshooting in the manuel but it only talks about cutting off at the bottom of a page. Have tried to check out various options from control panel but nothing seems to work. Sure would like to find out how to fix this.

Sometimes this can happen when the toner cartridge gets low on toner. Take the cartridge out of the machine, and gently shake it side to side. If it feels very light, it may be almost out of toner, since it hasn't said so to you, you can presume that the toner level sensor is bad. Also, if it is very light relative to a new one, request or not, consider replacing it.
