HP LaserJet 4200 PLC 5e

Mar 11, 2005 3:06AM PST

When printing any document, I can click print and everything comes out okay. Unless I try to change the properties of the printer (ie. double sided, change paper size) where I get the following error Window:
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\WINWORD.EXE
Function address 0x7c910f29 caused a protection fault. (exception code 0xc0000005) Some or all property pages may not be displayed."
OS: XP Pro (SP2)
Windows Firewall: Off
Norton Internet security Professional 2004:Personal Firewall Off
This printer is on a network, and I am told that it has its own IP address. Other printers are located on the network and the properties window comes up without any problems.
When I run Windows update, I repeatedly get an update for HP LaserJet 4200 PLC 5e, and install every time.
I believe this is a driver issue on the server end, but I'm not a smart man(but I try).
Any thoughts?
Tom

C0000005 errors point to permission problems.

There isn't enough detail about the user rights for me to tell you what the issue could be. But the code is... you aren't allowed to do that.

Same problem
Apr 21, 2005 6:19AM PDT

heet, was there ever any resolution to this problem? I am now having a similar problem with my 4200n PCL6 the errors it gives me is explorer.exe Function address 0x77c43ec0 caused a protection fault. (exception code 0xc0000005) Some or all property pages may not be displayed. This only happens on one of my 4200s and only happens on some computers. It started after SP1 on our 2003 server. On the computers that have the problem it does not matter who logs on I can login as admin and get the error. Any help would be great if you have got your issue fixed. Thanks.

You should create a new post. And be sure your OS and HP drivers are up to date.
