A repetative defect along the direction of paper motion is caused by a roller problem. If you can get the magic decoder ring, the distance between defects will tell you which roller. The only thing that I recommend is to try a new toner cartridge, there's lots of rollers in there. If that doesn't fix it, and you feel like getting real dirty, and possibly saving some money, try here.
Hi,
Recently, my HP laser jet 1100 printer has begun printing horizontal lines, about 3 inches apart, on printed output.
Has anyone encountered this problem, and if so, is it expensive to repair?
I contacted HP and they told me that I can trade up to a 1300 printer, at a cost of $270.00. If it's going to cost a lot to fix my 1100, I'm probably better off just buying a new one. On the other hand, if it just requires a simple adjustment, I've always liked this printer and I'll have it fixed.
I'd appreciate any advice you can provide.
Thanx.
