Windows 7 retail version is still relativily new to the market. Only the newest hardware will have drivers for Windows 7. Just as it was with all previous operating systems, it will take some time for the manufacturers to create drivers for older hardware. Depending on how old your hardware is dominates when and if the drivers are produced. Your only hope is to contact the manufacturer and ask if new drivers are being developed.
Purchased a TX2500Z Touchscreen Laptop in 2009 before the "free" windows upgrade from vista.
Tested it with a Dual Boot Vista/Win7 RC everything worked fine in Win7 RC and I booted to Win7RC exclusively
It is listed on HP's Windows 7 compatible list.
There is an HP Windows 7 upgrade kit for buyers who purchased after the "free Windows 7 upgrade" date.
For those who purchased before the "free update" date HP states a retail version of Windows 7 must be purchased.
I purchased the retail version of Windows 7 and drivers are missing unlike Win7 RC, HP will not support nor provide drivers for my Retail version of Windows 7. They suggest I restore my laptop to its original Vista.
What BS to offer a Win7 upgrade kit, but not offer those same drivers to Retail upgrades.
