Question

HP laptop won't boot up - brings up a black screen?

Mar 23, 2017 2:18PM PDT

Hi everyone.
I have a HP Laptop that's been working fine but all of a sudden, I let my mate use it the other day and there's been an issue on boot up ever since - namely the fact that it won't boot up!
It doesn't look too promising because when I boot it up, it brings up a black screen which says 'Boot device not found. Please install an operating system on your hard disk. Hard disk (3F0).
And then there's an option fo system diagnostics.
Any help with what I need to do cause it was working fine and it had an OS and I don't want to go out and buy a new one if this can be fixed another way.

Cheers

Just A Thought...

Although that error is usually related to a bad hard drive, sometimes the error pops up when a DVD/CD is left in the drive OR... when a USB drive or Printer is left on at startup. Have you checked for those items and removed them prior to boot?

Hope this helps.
