HP laptop power issue

hp pavillion dv6700 running vista. hard drive was replaced a year ago due to a crash. as of late, had to move the computer around to keep it charging, because if unplugged would drain battery VERY quickly. today, with the same issue, it began saying pluged in , not charging, then finally said not charging and died. wont power up whatsoever. moving to australia in a week and a half, so definitely need a quick fix!

You don't want to know.

Google DV6000 to learn about this disaster.

The fix is to replace the failed parts but my advice is to move on.

Known history of sorts

It seems the HP DV6xxx and DV9xxx series are prone to heat damage and/or surcome to actual operation worse than other HP laptops. Visit their support website for any details to include possible battery recall. The battery itself maybe drying out too quickly over it service life and can't maintain a charge long or the charging circuit is falling prey to heat damage as well.

Review these forums and notice help for HP DV6xxx series of laptops. Wink
