Hey, guys. So, recently a power surge from a lightning strike fried the vast majority of a friend of the family's business' network. I've been helping him get everything back to working order and am down to the network printer. Here's the issues I'm running into:
The IT guy he had before was doing some extremely inappropriate things in the office and was let go. On top of that, no documentation has been kept on how anything was set-up (it's been a fun week...). What I do know is that even though the printer is hard-wired to the system there is no connectivity (it's not even showing up as a connected device to the network). I believe that it was given a static IP that not longer exists in the network's IP range, but don't fully know how to change the IP range back to a standard 192.168.1.XXX. (When I try to revert it the router tells me that there's a conflict with the WAN subnet [Netgear Wireless N-300 Router WNR2000v2]). I've tried everything listed in the manual on how to access the IP settings. However, a USB connection with the printer always fails, the setup control panel on the printer never saves the IP that I manually imput, etc.
Any help would be massively appreciated. Also, any information needed I will post I just don't know what's pertinent information regarding the issue (I know just enough to be dangerous when it comes to networking).
