Why do you think it's a driver problem? What does Device Manager say about it?

If it never worked, it's a warranty issue (assuming you still have warranty). If it did work and suddenly stopped working, I'd try System Restore back to when it still worked first.

This, alas, isn't a pure Windows 7 problem. Only HP can tell you where the installable version of the driver is, where the installable version of their software is and how to do it. So it might be time to contact their tech support if it isn't in the manuals that came with the laptop (either paper or pdf). Let's hope that they have to offer more than just "Go back to factory conditions".

Of course, if it's a hardware issue, nothing of the above will help. But it still might be solved by HP under warranty.
